Simulation data company VRAI are launching a new mission visualisation, briefing and rehearsal product at DSEI this year called VADE. VADE is an immersive, real-time Extended Reality (XR) platform that transforms military briefing, and rehearsal by combining accurate environment visualisation with an integrated suite of planning tools — giving commanders unmatched clarity and decision speed.

VRAI are recognised niche leaders in the area of visualising human performance data in simulation, VADE will focus on visualising geospatial data to help bring clarity and speed to the planning and decision making process.

VADE has been under development for 5 years in collaboration with various expert military end users, as well as leveraging industry leading solutions such as Unreal Engine, XR headsets, 3D geospatial data and products from Cesium.

VADE was most recently deployed in collaboration with jHUB, part of the Ministry of Defence and Cyber & Specialist Operations Command, which connects world-class technology and talent with users across Defence.

VRAI’s jHUB collaboration is called project THEIA, and is building on the technology that VRAI delivered in collaboration with the RAF’s ASTRA innovation fund, as well as to other international expert end users.

VRAI will be launching VADE at the DSEI conference in London’s Excel Arena. Project THEIA is an outstanding example of rapid procurement frameworks bringing innovative solutions to the front line. Commenting on the launch of VADE, Lt Col Dan Sawyers RM - Head of jHub said:

“For the last 12 months, jHub have been working with VRAI to deliver project THEIA, integrating VR and XR into mission planning to enhance our ability to plan and execute. THEIA has seen success with users and is a great example of jHub's prime offering, being able to solve defence's problems with novel technology to enable operational advantage. There is an exciting future ahead of THEIA as we look to scale and expand the reach of this capability, if you are a military potential user, please get in touch with the jHub."

VADE delivers intuitive, near real-time, 3D visualisations of complex, multi-domain environments, enabling commanders to see clearly, decide faster, and act with precision. Validated by the most demanding users, VADE delivers operational relevance, speed, and usability. It’s not just another tool, it’s a mission enabler.

Niall Campion, VRAI’s Managing Director for Product & Customers said:

“We're delighted to be launching our new product, VADE, at DSEI 2025. Based on 5 years of collaborative development with our customers, VADE is a mission briefing and rehearsal tool that visualises complex data for commanders, enabling better decisions, faster. VADE will complement our core product, HEAT, which allows users to capture, store, analyse and visualise human performance data. We are excited to see how customers from the military and beyond will use VADEs immersive, intuitive 3D environments to reduce cognitive load and improve operational understanding.”

VRAI are working with some of the leading European aerospace and defence companies, including BAE Systems, Kongsberg and Babcock, as well as working directly to a number of European MOD’s, and at the forefront of simulation related R&D via organisations such as UK’s DASA, NATO and the European Defence Fund.

VRAI are HQ’d in Dublin, Ireland, with their UK company based out of Newcastle, and opened their US office earlier this year in Orlando’s world leading simulation and training cluster following the completion of their Series A investment round.
